Biography
Dr. Schmidt received his undergraduate degree from Yale College and his medical degree (with honors) from Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he was elected to the AOA honor society. He completed an internship at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois and did an Ophthalmology Residency at Wills Eye Hospital where he also completed his Glaucoma Fellowship.
He is currently an Assistant Surgeon on the Glaucoma Service at Wills Eye Hospital, and is Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. He is on staff at numerous hospitals in the Delaware Valley and in the New Jersey area with offices in Pennsylvania at the Wills Eye Hospital Glaucoma Service and in Bala Cynwyd, as well as in Marlton, Northfield, and Vineland, New Jersey.
Dr. Schmidt has co-authored many publications and is a member of the American Glaucoma Society. He teaches residents and fellows on the Glaucoma Service of the Wills Eye Hospital and has lectured and taught locally and nationally. He is listed as one of the “Best Doctors in America 2008-09.”
